online, many nowadays favour the power and ease of use of car insurance
comparison sites. They are certainly an easy way to save money on your
renewal quote. But are they really the best choice for a quick car
insurance quote?
Well, most would say that they are, but, here, we'll look at why this
assertion is somewhat tenuous when you examine the facts.
We'll
start by disregarding price - to return to it in a moment - to ask the
question: what sort of policy will serve you best in an accident? To

If
you do this, you quickly notice that the cover from these top car
insurance companies is generally pitched at the kind of level that any
driver, if coming at this from an objectively sensible position, might
regard as optimal for their needs if it is accepted that a degree of
pragmatism is needed to avoid a premium that's excessively costly.
The
same cannot be said of those policies scoring highly on price
comparison sites as, by dint of their low price tag, much is left out,
not to mention their typically high excess.
Thus, based on
quality alone, it's no contest, go direct. However, price is important.
Indeed most choose their car insurance cover largely on the basis of
price rather than any thorough consideration or comparison of policy
features.
And yet, if it is accepted that going direct is
appropriate on the basis of quality of cover, can a case also be

they are invariably tighly banded - prices vary little.
Thus,
when you want a quick car insurance quote, it's wise to go direct and
let the price look after itself. The only thing you have to do - and,
admittedly this is hard for many - is to accept that while there are
cheaper policies out there, buying them is singularly unhelpful if a
